Yoga Qi Gong with the Seasons – Saturday 8.30 ~ 10 am
Combining the wisdom of Yoga and Qi Gong (energy cultivation), Chrys will guide you with exercises that nourish the body and spirit according to the Seasons. If the Sky and the Earth are akin to our Parents, then the Seasons are their message to us how to live in harmony and health. The session includes standing and seated movements, guided awareness and meditation. If you can walk, you can do these exercises. All levels of flexibility are welcome.
Yin Yoga – TBA
Inspired by Daoist Yoga (similar to Qi Gong), Yin Yoga is a Western adaptation and approach to synthesise mostly floor stretching exercises to open the energy channels. Chrys was trained in Yin Yoga since 2004 and has adopted Yin Yoga into her daily practice. She has deepened her affinity to Yin Yoga and Qi Gong since her back injury in 2012. Many participants find the session useful to open their bodies slowly and gently; at the same time heal deeper emotional aspects. Chrys will lead you to ease into the poses gently with guided awareness. It may help if you feel comfortable sitting on the yoga mat. All levels of flexibility are welcome.
Yoga Nidra/ Deep Relaxation and Meditation – Monday 7 ~ 8.30 pm
Yoga Nidra is a powerful technique which can be effectively used to relieve modern daily stress. In the state of Yoga Nidra (between sleep and wakefulness) we experience a great deal of physical quiet, mental clarity, emotional peace and a blossoming of our creative potential. It allows us to explore our inner personality; and get in touch with the strength and creative potential of our mind. By moderating stress and relaxation, you can use emotions as tools for healing. The session includes tuning in, postures for relaxation, guided Yoga Nidra lying down or sitting, integration and tuning out.
Yoga for Strength and Flexibility – Tuesday 9 ~ 10.30 am
Building our balance, strength and flexibility using the flowing movements in the Sun Salutation series. Chrys will guide you with preparation poses to gently open and warm the body, before safely moving into deeper stretches; staying conscious of the alignment and the breath. As we build strength, progressively we will feel the fluidity of the movements without striving too much, practicing finding the balance between effort and effortless. All levels of flexibility welcome.
Pre Natal Yoga – Based on Group’s Request
Please provide your Doctor’s recommendation before joining the course. This course is designed for healthy mothers-to-be between second and part of third trimester with no complication. The course aims to facilitate healthy pregnant women in this important stage of their lives to connect with themselves and the baby/ ies they carry, in a supportive nurturing environment; to explore the ways to relax, stay healthy emotionally and physically, to be conscious of and accept the changes, and to be aware of their birthing choices. It is hoped that the course may inspire conscious pregnancy and birth; and conscious parenting. We recognise that pregnancy and childbirth is a profound rite of passage, not a medical event; that it is a spiritual process of self-discovery.
Post Natal Yoga for Mums and Bubs – Based on Group’s Request
Whether you have joined the pre-natal classes before or not, this is a supportive space that provides a continuity care from pre-natal to post-natal phase. This course is designed for mothers with babies of 7 weeks to crawlers. If you had a caesarian, please get your Doctor’s recommendation before joining the class.
The course is designed to help you regain strength after delivery. We focus on strengthening the pelvic floor, the abdominal and the lower back muscles; postures that restore the alignment and provide relief from repetitive movement in lifting, nursing and carrying your baby/ ies. Focusing on nurturing and inspiring mothers so that mothers can nurture their babies during their important early years.
